Do you attract the right clients into your business? It’s something that initially causes issues for a lot of my clients. Either they’re not attracting the right clients into their business, or even worse, they’re not attracting any clients at all.
So how do you attract the right clients into your business? Here are some tips to help.
You can’t attract the right clients into your business if you don’t know who they are
Firstly, think about who you want to work with. This is so important because I believe you need to really enjoy the people you’re working with. There needs to be chemistry for the relationship to work.
Think about your current and previous clients. Who’s been a complete joy to work with? Who did you just completely click with? Who had the best results?
Once you have a name or a list of names, really think about them. List out the following:
- What are their values, what do they stand for?
- What are their habits?
- What do they fear?
- What are their big dreams?
- What do they need help with?
Finally, think about who you don’t want to work with. This is equally important as it can highlight anything you may have neglected to think about.
Create a client persona
Use your answers to build up a client persona, as this is going to help you in so many ways.
- It will help you to write better content. (Tip: give your ideal client a name and pretend you’re writing to them when writing your content.)
- It will help you search out these people in groups. (Tip: search for keywords around what they’re struggling with or need help with in Facebook groups or hashtags.)
- It will help you to filter people out when you’re on discovery calls. (Yes, you can say no to people who don’t align!)
A client persona isn’t a one-time-done document; it can be adapted and added to over time. So ensure you’re regularly reviewing it to guarantee you’re always focusing on the right clients for your business.
Carry out your research and create suitable solutions
Once you clearly understand who your ideal client is and have created a client persona, it’s time to do some research.
Researching your ideal client will help you understand what they need help with right now, and this will enable you to improve or create offers that meet their needs. Don’t assume that they need what you have – listen, pay attention and create accordingly.
Have the right messaging in place to attract the right clients for your business
Once you have clarity on your ideal client, what they need, and the offer you will promote, it’s time to connect everything and push your offer out there.
Ensure that your messaging is clear and concise. The right messaging will address their pain points, showcase the benefits, share results from past clients and have a clear call to action.
